Roots
September 19 - October 12, 2019
Galleria La Nica, Rome, Italy
On September 19, 2019, the exhibition “Roots / Radici” was inaugurated at via dei Banchi Nuovi 22, a solo exhibition by the Italian-American artist Michelle Gagliano who in 2017 obtained the prestigious Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Visual Fellowship, the same recognition given to Cy Twombly in 1949. On display is a cycle of works dedicated to her emotional relationship with nature, an intimate path that wanted to welcome the autumn season. The inauguration of “Roots / Radici” was attended by Michelle Gagliano and the well-known American jazz musician Butch Taylor, who for the occasion performed live with the double bass Luca Bulgarelli with unreleased songs dedicated to the works on display. Galleria La Nica was pleased to offer an immersive event, in which painting and music dialogued synergistically. The exhibition, which has received the patronage of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, will be open until October 12, 2019. We would like to thank Cantina Placido Volpone for supporting the event.
